We are officially a week after the release of Ignite Your Faith and the book is doing much better than expected. Thank you to everyone who bought the book! As of today it is still listed in the top 10 category in inspirational Christian.

Ignite Your Faith Is Out!
It has been an exciting “release day” here in New Hampshire. This morning the book broke the top 100 for the “inspirational Christian” category on Amazon. It continued to rise until it #2 in that same category and then was listed as the “#1 New Release in Inspirational Christianity.”
Uploaded and waiting…
Today, in the early morning hours of December 31, I uploaded the “final” version of both the ebook and print format. This means I am getting very close, but I am not clear yet. Once submitted, Amazon has to look over the files and make sure everything is formatted properly. Last month I submitted a test copy of the paperback version and it emailed me a few days later letting me know they didn’t like the cover (the title on the binding was apparently not the correct size) or the ISBN number on the back. Thanks to photoshop, I went in and made some changes and am not crossing my fingers that they will be cleared this time.
Formatting the book
Not only am I the author, but I am also pretending to be the publisher! So after all the work of writing is and editing is done, I then have to format the book so that it is ready to be uploaded onto Amazon’s site. I used the program Vellum to help me out with the formatting. I started by importing a Word file and then it gave its best shot at finding chapter breaks. I gave it a pat on the back and then went in and redid all the breaks it messed up on. The final product is the result of Vellum’s nice formatting and my guiding it so it knows what is a chapter, forward, etc. Once everything is complete I am able to generate files that can be uploaded for Kindle, print, or other ebooks.
First Look!
I got my first look at the “author copy” of Ignite Your Faith! It’s very exciting to see months of hard work appear in physical form! Still have a few formatting issues to fix (the price of being your own publisher) but it is almost ready.

My book has hit Amazon for preorder! Well, sort of. The front cover of the ebook is now up but the paperback version, preview pages, and amazon page description are all still waiting for approval.
